There’s something about this season of life that feels… a little chaotic, a little beautiful, and a lot overwhelming all at the same time.
I’m in the stage of motherhood where someone always needs something. There are snacks being asked for before I’ve even had my coffee, laundry that never actually ends, and a mental checklist running in my head from the second I wake up. It’s loud, it’s busy, and if I’m being honest, it can feel like I’m constantly pouring from my cup without realizing when it got low.
But lately, I’ve been trying to look at it differently.
Because the truth is… this season isn’t something to “get through.” It’s something I’m living right now. And one day, I’ll probably miss parts of it.
The sticky hands.
The way they still want me.
The chaos of everyone being under one roof, needing me in a hundred different ways.
I used to think I needed to have everything perfectly balanced to feel like I was doing a good job. The clean house, the routines, the meals, the content, the everything. But I’m realizing more and more that balance doesn’t always look like everything getting equal attention.
Sometimes it looks like letting the house be a little messy so I can sit on the floor and play.
Sometimes it looks like choosing rest over productivity.
Sometimes it looks like doing my best… and being okay with that.
I’m also learning that it’s okay to want things for me in this season too. To move my body, to take care of my mental health, to find little pockets of time that remind me I’m still me, not just “mom.”
Because showing up for my family starts with showing up for myself, too.
If you’re in a season that feels heavy, busy, or overwhelming… I hope you know you’re not alone in it. And I hope you give yourself more credit.
You’re doing more than you think.
You’re holding more than anyone sees.
And somehow, you’re still showing up every single day.
And that counts for everything.
