October is here, and we’re filling our calendar with all the fall fun we can squeeze in! Even though Florida doesn’t exactly give us the crisp fall weather everyone else seems to enjoy, that isn’t stopping us from making the most of the season. Between school, baseball, and everything else we have going on, our weekends fill up quickly, so I’ve been loving the idea of creating monthly bucket lists to make sure we’re actually doing the things we talk about doing.
I don’t expect us to check off every single thing, but I do love having a list of activities to look forward to. Some are bigger family outings, some are simple things we can do at home, and I’ve even added a couple just for myself. Because if there’s one thing I’ve been working on this year, it’s making time for the things I enjoy outside of our everyday routines, too!

Making the Most of Fall in Florida
One of my favorite things about living in the Tampa Bay area is that there’s always somewhere new to explore. We’ve already enjoyed some fall fun at Sweetfields Farm in Brooksville, and I’m hoping to squeeze in a few more outings before the month is over. I’d love to visit another pumpkin patch, explore a local fall market, and make it over to Disney for a day. Even though we’ve lived in Florida for years, there are still so many little towns and hidden gems we haven’t explored, so I’m adding a day trip to our list, too!
I’m also really looking forward to the slower moments at home. We spend so much time running from one thing to the next that sometimes it’s nice to have absolutely nowhere to be. Making caramel apples with the boys, having a family game night, or spending an evening watching a movie together might not sound like much, but those are the kinds of memories I want our kids to grow up remembering. Not every weekend has to be filled with expensive activities or elaborate plans to be special.
And of course, I had to sneak a little something in for myself! Finding a new coffee shop, ordering something delicious, and spending an hour with my Kindle sounds like the perfect October afternoon. I’ve been trying to be more intentional about making time for myself this year, and little things like that have become something I really look forward to.
Here’s to October!
Whether we check off five things or all fourteen, I’m just excited for another month of making memories together. The kids are growing up so quickly, and I want to enjoy these little seasons of life while we’re in them.
If you’re looking for some fun things to do with your family this fall, I hope our October bucket list gives you a few ideas! Save this list, pick a few favorites, and make some memories of your own. And if you have a favorite fall activity or a family-friendly spot around Tampa Bay that we need to visit, I’d love to hear about it!
